German Tatjana Maria, the top seed, moved into the final of the Barranquilla Open after Croat Antonia Ruzic withdrew before the match on Friday night.
Maria, ranked No 71, will play Argentinian Nadia Podoroska, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 37-year-old German won against Colombian wildcard Maria Herazo Gonzalez (6-0, 6-1), American Elizabeth Mandlik (6-4, 4-6, 6-3) and Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens, the No 6 seed (7-5, 7-5).
Ruzic, ranked No 185, defeated Colombian Emiliana Arango, the No 7 seed (6-2, 6-4), American Varvara Lepchenko (3-6, 6-2, 6-3) and Argentinian Solana Sierra (6-2, 2-6, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
