Tatjana Maria, the top seed, won against Argentinian Martina Capurro Taborda 6-1, 6-1 to move into the last 16 of the Barranquilla Open on Tuesday night.
The German needed just over an hour to dispatch her opponent, breaking Taborda’s serve six times and holding her own all but once.
Maria, ranked No 58, will play Greek Valentini Grammatikopoulou next.
