Barranquilla Open: Maria beats Lamens to make last four

German Tatjana Maria, the top seed, moved into the last 4 of the Barranquilla Open by beating Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens, the No 6 seed, 7-5, 7-5.
Maria, ranked No 71, will face Croat Antonia Ruzic next.
In the previous rounds, the 37-year-old German won against Colombian wildcard Maria Herazo Gonzalez (6-0, 6-1) and American Elizabeth Mandlik (6-4, 4-6, 6-3).
Lamens, ranked No 125, won against Israeli qualifier Lina Glushko (7-5, 6-1) and edged out Francesca Jones (6-4, 1-6, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
