Bari Open: Zidansek wins the title

Slovenian Tamara Zidansek, the No 5 seed, won the Bari Open tournament by defeating Slovak Rebecca Sramkova 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 at Circolo Tennis Bari on Sunday evening.
Zidansek, ranked No 118, beat Latvian Darja Semenistaja (6-1, 2-6, 6-2), Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle (7-6 (4), 6-2), Pole qualifier Katarzyna Kawa (6-2, 6-4) and Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the top seed (7-6 (3), 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Puglia Open.
Earlier in the tournament, Sramkova, ranked No 153, beat Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 6 seed (6-3, 6-1), Russian Polina Kudermetova (7-6 (2), 3-6, 6-3), Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, the second seed (6-2, 7-5) and Croat Jana Fett (7-5, 6-3).
