Bari Open: Zidansek beats Carle to book spot in quarter-finals

Slovenian Tamara Zidansek, the No 5 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Bari Open by defeating Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle 7-6 (4), 6-2 at Circolo Tennis Bari.
Zidansek, ranked No 118, will face Pole qualifier Katarzyna Kawa next.
Ahead of her victory, the Slovenian won against Latvian Darja Semenistaja (6-1, 2-6, 6-2).
Carle, ranked No 165, won against Slovak Veronika Erjavec (6-1, 6-3) in the previous round of the Puglia Open.
