Italian Jennifer Ruggeri won against Berfu Cengiz 6-0, 6-2 to advance to the last 8 of the Bari Open at Circolo Tennis Bari.
Jennifer Ruggeri will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the top seed, and Greek Valentini Grammatikopoulou next.
Ahead of her victory, the 20-year-old Italian defeated qualifier Freya Christie (6-3, 6-1).
Cengiz, ranked No 237, beat German Noma Noha Akugue, the No 8 seed (7-5, 6-0) in the previous round of the Puglia Open.
