Bari Open: Fett moves into semi-finals with win over Sonmez

Croat Jana Fett advanced to the semi-finals of the Bari Open by winning against Zeynep Sonmez 7-6 (1), 6-4 at Circolo Tennis Bari.

Fett, ranked No 251, will face Slovak Rebecca Sramkova next.

Earlier in the tournament, the Croat beat Spaniard Marina Bassols Ribera, the No 7 seed (6-3, 6-3) and Cypriot Raluka Serban (6-4, 6-1).

Sonmez, ranked No 177, won against Swiss Ylena In-Albon (6-4, 7-6 (4)) and Spaniard Aliona Bolsova, the No 3 seed (6-1, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Puglia Open.
