Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, the second seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Bari Open by winning against Italian Nuria Brancaccio 6-3, 6-4 at Circolo Tennis Bari.
Cristian, ranked No 99, will play Slovak Rebecca Sramkova next.
In the previous round of the Puglia Open, the Romanian beat Italian qualifier Angelica Moratelli (7-5, 6-4).
Brancaccio, ranked No 168, won against Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic (6-0, 6-2) in the previous round of the Puglia Open.
