Berfu Cengiz advanced to the last 16 of the Bari Open by beating German Noma Noha Akugue, the No 8 seed, 7-5, 6-0 at Circolo Tennis Bari on Monday afternoon.
Cengiz, ranked No 237, will face the winner of the match between Italian Jennifer Ruggeri and qualifier Freya Christie next.
