Bad Homburg Open: Swiatek advances to last four, closes in on first grass title
Iga Swiatek won against Anna Blinkova 6-3, 6-2 on Thursday evening and will play Italian Lucia Bronzetti in the next round
Pole Iga Swiatek, the top seed, won against Russian Anna Blinkova, the No 9 seed, 6-3, 6-2 to reach the semi-finals of the Bad Homburg Open at Bod Hombourg vor der Höhe on Thursday evening.
Swiatek, ranked No 1, will play Italian Lucia Bronzetti next as she seeks her first career title on grass.

Swiatek’s record in tour-level quarter-finals now stands at 21-3.
The 22-year-old Pole defeated German Tatjana Maria (5-7, 6-2, 6-0) and Swiss qualifier Jil Teichmann (6-3, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Bad Hombourg tournament, Blinkova, ranked No 39, edged out German wildcard Sabine Lisicki (3-6, 6-1, 7-5) and beat Canadian Leylah Fernandez (7-5, 6-2).
