Bad Homburg Open: Tomova beats Blinkova to move into semi-finals
Viktoriya Tomova edged out Anna Blinkova 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 (9) on Thursday evening. She’ll play Croat Donna Vekic in the next round
Bulgarian qualifier Viktoriya Tomova edged out Russian Anna Blinkova 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 (9) to advance to the last 4 of the Bad Homburg Open.
Tomova, ranked No 58, will play Croat Donna Vekic next.
Ahead of her victory, the Bulgarian won against German wildcard Tatjana Maria (6-1, 6-3) and Linda Noskova (6-4, 6-2).
Blinkova, ranked No 66, defeated Canadian wildcard Bianca Andreescu (6-4, 6-2) and Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 4 seed (6-3, 7-5) earlier in the tournament.
