Bad Hombourg Open: Blinkova beats Haddad Maia to make quarter-finals

Russian Anna Blinkova advanced to the quarter-finals of the Bad Homburg Open by beating Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 4 seed, 6-3, 7-5.
Blinkova, ranked No 66, will play Bulgarian qualifier Viktoriya Tomova next.
In the previous round of the Bad Hombourg tournament, the Russian beat Canadian wildcard Bianca Andreescu (6-4, 6-2).
Haddad Maia, ranked No 20, won against German lucky loser Tamara Korpatsch (6-1, 7-6 (6)) in the 32 of the Bad Hombourg tournament.
