Back-to-back! Collins blows away Kasatkina in Charleston final

American Danielle Collins beat Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 4 seed, 6-2, 6-1 to win the Charleston Open final at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Sunday evening.
The victory is Collins’ 13th in a row, with the American now winning back-to-back titles after lifting the trophy at the Miami Open WTA 1000 last weekend as well. She becomes the first woman since Serena Williams in 2013 to win Miami and Charleston in the same year.
Collins, ranked No 22, defeated Spaniard Paula Badosa (6-1, 6-4), Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the second seed (6-3, 1-6, 6-3), Sloane Stephens (6-2, 6-2), Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 11 seed (6-3, 6-4) and Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 3 seed (6-3, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Charleston tournament, Kasatkina, ranked No 11, defeated American Ashlyn Krueger (6-3, 0-6, 6-1), Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina, the No 15 seed (6-1, 6-4), Romanian Jaqueline Cristian (6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-3) and American Jessica Pegula, the top seed (6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (5)).
