American Danielle Collins, the No 4 seed, beat Russian Anna Kalinskaya 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 to reach the semi-finals of the Austin Open at the Westwood Country Club on Friday.
Collins, ranked No 38, will face Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, the No 8 seed, next.
The American edged out Pole Magdalena Frech (6-7 (7), 6-2, 6-4) and won against Catherine McNally (6-1, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
Kalinskaya, ranked No 67, won against Japanese lucky loser Nao Hibino (6-4, 3-6, 6-2) and American lucky loser Coco Vandeweghe (6-3, 6-1).
