Austin Open: Yuan finishes strong against Rodionova to make second round
Yue Yuan beat Arina Rodionova 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 on Monday evening. She’ll play the winner of the match between American Taylor Townsend and Mexican wildcard Fernanda Contreras Gomez in the next round

Chinese Yue Yuan, the No 8 seed, won against Australian Arina Rodionova 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 to advance to the second round of the Austin Open at the Westwood Country Club on Monday evening.
Yuan, ranked No 68, will face the winner of the match between American Taylor Townsend and Mexican wildcard Fernanda Contreras Gomez next.
