Austin Open: Gracheva books berth in last eight, Stephens next
Gracheva needed three sets to beat Anna Blinkova on Wednesday

Varvara Gracheva advanced to the quarter-finals of the Austin Open by winning against Anna Blinkova 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-1 at the Westwood Country Club on Wednesday.
Gracheva, ranked No 88, will play American Sloane Stephens, the No 5 seed, next. The pair had met last week in Merida which Stephens won in a deciding set tiebreak.
In the previous round of the Austin tournament, Gracheva edged out Pole Magda Linette, the top seed (6-3, 4-6, 6-4). Blinkova, ranked No 72, beat American qualifier Ann Li (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Austin tournament.
