Austin Open: Collins into second round, faces Volynets next

American Danielle Collins, the No 3 seed, beat Australian qualifier Olivia Gadecki 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Austin Open at the Westwood Country Club on Tuesday.

Collins, ranked No 48, will play American wildcard Katie Volynets next.

The former Australian Open runner-up has announced that 2024 will be her final season on the tour as a pro but has not confirmed her exact schedule for the season yet.
