Auckland Open: Parks reaches quarter-finals, meets Volynets next
The American won against Greet Minnen 7-5, 6-3 on Thursday

American Alycia Parks moved into the last eight of the Auckland Open by beating Belgian Greet Minnen 7-5, 6-3 at the ASB Tennis Arena on Thursday.
Parks, ranked No 82, will face No 8 seed and fellow American Katie Volynets next. She has now won seven matches in a row on tour after claiming a WTA $125K title in France last month.
Parks won against No 3 seed Amanda Anisimova (2-6, 6-2, 6-3) in the previous round of the tournament.
Earlier in the week, Minnen, ranked No 95, defeated German qualifier Anna-Lena Friedsam (6-4, 6-0).
