Argentina Open: Riera books spot in last 8
Julia Riera won against Miriam Bulgaru 6-2, 6-3 on Thursday evening and will face Slovenian Polona Hercog in the next round
Argentinian Julia Riera, the No 7 seed, won against Romanian Miriam Bulgaru 6-2, 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals of the Argentina Open at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club on Thursday evening.
Riera, ranked No 163, will play Slovenian Polona Hercog next.
The 21-year-old Argentinian beat Frenchwoman Selena Janicijevic (7-5, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Argentinian tournament, Bulgaru, ranked No 201, won against Russian qualifier Amina Anshba (6-3, 6-4).
