Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet advanced to the second round of the Angers Open by beating Estonian Kaia Kanepi 6-4, 6-2 at the Arena Loire de Trélazé on Tuesday evening.

Paquet, ranked No 186, will play the winner of the match between Gabriela Knutson and Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 8 seed, next.
