Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 8 seed, reached the second round of the Andorrà Open by beating Cagla Buyukakcay 1-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 at Polideportivo de Andorra in Andorre on Monday evening.
Cornet, ranked No 118, will face Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz next.
