Alert – Ostapenko beats Alexandrova to win Linz Open title
Jelena Ostapenko won the tournament, beating Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova in Sunday’s final to lift her eighth career trophy

Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the top seed, won the Upper Austria Ladies tournament by beating Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the second seed, 6-2, 6-3 at the TipsArena in Linz.
Ostapenko, ranked No 12, defeated Dane qualifier Clara Tauson (3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7)), qualifier Jodie Burrage (6-1, 6-2) and Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (6-2, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Linz tournament, Alexandrova, ranked No 21, beat German qualifier Jule Niemeier (6-3, 6-0), No 5 seed Anastasia Potapova (6-2, 7-6 (8)) and Croat Donna Vekic, the No 3 seed (5-7, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (6)).
