Kazakh Yulia Putintseva moved into the second round of the Adelaide Open by defeating Croat Donna Vekic 6-2, 6-3 at the Memorial Drive Tennis Park on Monday.
Putintseva, ranked No 25, will play the winner of the match between American Danielle Collins, the No 4 seed, and Tunisian wildcard Ons Jabeur next.
