Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 11 seed, moved into the last 16 of the Adelaide International 2 by defeating Romanian qualifier Sorana Cirstea 7-6 (5), 6-1 at the Memorial Drive Tennis Park on Monday.
Haddad Maia, ranked No 15, will face the winner of the match between American lucky loser Amanda Anisimova and Russian Liudmila Samsonova next.
