Noskova books spot in Adelaide final, defeating top seed Jabeur

Czech Linda Noskova defeated Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the top seed, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 to move into the final of the Adelaide International 1 at the Memorial Drive Tennis Park on Saturday.
Qualifier Noskova, ranked No 102, will face Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed, for the trophy.
Jabeur received treatment after the first set for what looked to be a back injury.
“Definitely a tough match,” Noskova said afterwards. “I don’t think either of us played 100 per cent so I’m glad I got the last point to win, and really glad to play like this.”
The 18-year-old Czech won against Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 3 seed (6-3, 6-7 (2), 6-3), American qualifier Claire Liu (6-2, 6-2) and Belarusian Victoria Azarenka (6-4, 6-7 (3), 7-6 (6)) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Adelaide 1 tournament, Jabeur, ranked world No 2, beat Romanian Sorana Cirstea (7-6 (3), 6-1) and Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk (7-6 (5), 7-5).
