Abierto Tampico: Zhu moves into last four, defeating Siniakova
Lin Zhu won against Katerina Siniakova 6-4, 7-5 on Thursday night. She’ll face the winner of the match between Colombian Camila Osorio, the No 7 seed, and Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the next round
Chinese Lin Zhu, the No 6 seed, reached the last four of the Abierto Tampico by winning against Czech Katerina Siniakova, the No 4 seed, 6-4, 7-5 at Centro Libanes Mexicano de Tampico on Thursday night.
Zhu, ranked No 62, will face the winner of the match between Colombian Camila Osorio, the No 7 seed, and Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto next.
Ahead of her victory, the Chinese beat Austrian Julia Grabher (6-4, 3-6, 6-0) and Russian Varvara Gracheva (6-1, 6-2).
Siniakova, ranked No 49, defeated American Alycia Parks (6-0, 6-3) and Pole Magdalena Frech (6-3, 7-6 (7)).
