Abierto Tampico: Lepchenko through to face Blinkova in quarters

American qualifier Varvara Lepchenko beat Swiss Jil Teichmann 7-6 (3), 2-6, 6-3 to move into the quarter-finals of the Abierto Tampico on Wednesday.
Lepchenko, ranked No 149, will play No 5 seed Anna Blinkova next.
Ahead of her win today, the 38-year-old American won against German Jule Niemeier, the second seed (6-3, 6-3).
Teichmann, ranked No 153, won against Mexican wildcard Victoria Rodriguez (6-4, 6-2) in the previous round.
