Abierto Tampico: Carle beats Korneeva in first round
The Argentine will face Canadian Rebecca Marino in the next round

Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 3 seed, edged out Russian Alina Korneeva 6-7 (8), 6-4, 6-4 to reach the last 16 of the Abierto Tampico on Tuesday.
Carle, ranked No 87, will next play Canadian Rebecca Marino, who beat Mexican wildcard Jessica Hinojosa Gomez in another first round clash.
