Wimbledon: Zverev beats Watanuki in four, meets Berrettini in third round

German Alexander Zverev, the No 19 seed, won against Japanese lucky loser Yosuke Watanuki 6-4, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the third round of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London.

Zverev, ranked No 21, will face Italian Matteo Berrettini next. The German holds a 3-1 lead in their career head-to-head.

The German beat Dutch qualifier Gijs Brouwer (6-4, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5)) ahead of his victory.

In the previous round of The Championships, Watanuki, ranked No 116, came back against Swiss Marc-Andrea Huesler (6-7 (5), 5-7, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (3), 6-3).
