Wimbledon: Vondrousova fights back from set down to win battle of the Czechs against Bouzkova
Marketa Vondrousova won against Marie Bouzkova 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 and will face the winner of the match between Pegula and Tsurenko in the next round
Marketa Vondrousova defeated No 32 seed Marie Bouzkova 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the quarter-finals of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
Vondrousova, ranked No 42, will face the winner of the match between American Jessica Pegula, the No 4 seed, and Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko next.
In the previous rounds of The Championships, Marketa Vondrousova won against American Peyton Stearns (6-2, 7-5), Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the No 12 seed (6-3, 6-3) and Croat Donna Vekic, the No 20 seed (6-1, 7-5).
Bouzkova, ranked No 33, won against Swiss qualifier Simona Waltert (6-1, 6-4), Estonian Anett Kontaveit (6-1, 6-2) and Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the No 5 seed (7-6, 4-6, 7-5) earlier in the tournament.
