Wimbledon: Ben Shelton rallies past Harris to reach third round

American Ben Shelton, the No 14 seed, moved into the third round of Wimbledon by winning against South African qualifier Lloyd Harris 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-7 (5), 6-3, 7-6 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Thursday.

Shelton rallied from two sets to one down for the second consecutive round, the 21-year-old reaching the third round at Wimbledon for the first time on his second career appearance.

Shelton, ranked No 14, will play the winner of the match between Canadian Denis Shapovalov and German Daniel Altmaier next.

The 21-year-old American defeated Italian qualifier Mattia Bellucci (4-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4) ahead of his victory.

In the previous round of The Championships, Harris, ranked No 118, came back against American Alex Michelsen (3-6, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2, 7-6 (9)).
