Wimbledon: Shelton needs five sets to reach second round

American Ben Shelton, the No 32 seed, reached the second round of Wimbledon by winning against Japanese lucky loser Taro Daniel 6-4, 6-3, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Wednesday evening.

Shelton, ranked No 36, will play Serb Laslo Djere in the second round.

This is first ever win at Wimbledon for Shelton, who reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in January.
