Wimbledon: Shapovalov survives in five, will face Shelton in round three

Canadian Denis Shapovalov won against German Daniel Altmaier 7-6 (3), 6-3, 1-6, 6-7 (3), 6-4 to reach the third round of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Thursday.

Shapovalov, ranked No 121, will face American Ben Shelton, the No 14 seed, next.

The Canadian beat Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 19 seed (6-1, 7-5, 6-4) in the previous round of The Championships.

During the first round of The Championships, Altmaier, ranked No 80, won against wildcard Arthur Fery (4-6, 7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-3, 6-1).
