Wildcard Emma Raducanu won against Mexican lucky loser Renata Zarazua 7-6, 6-3 to move into the second round of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Monday evening.
It was a surprise from the start, as Raducanu was originally slated to face Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 22 seed, but she was forced to withdraw due to illness.
Raducanu, ranked No 135, will play Belgian Elise Mertens next.
