Tommy Paul dispatches former runner up Raonic for spot in third round

American Tommy Paul, the No 16 seed, advanced to the third round of Wimbledon by edging out Canadian Milos Raonic 6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-7 (4), 6-4 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Thursday afternoon.

Paul, ranked No 15, will play Jiri Lehecka next.

In the previous round of The Championships, the American beat Japanese qualifier Shintaro Mochizuki (7-5, 6-3, 6-1).

Milos Raonic won against Austrian Dennis Novak (6-7 (5), 6-4, 7-6 (5), 6-1) in the first round of The Championships. He has returned to the tour this summer after nearly two years off due to a plethora of injuries.
