Wimbledon: Munar topples Isner to set up Musetti clash

Spaniard Jaume Munar advanced to the second round of Wimbledon by edging out American John Isner 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Monday.

Munar weathered 17 aces from the former semi-finalist to win in two hours and 38 minutes and reach the second round at Wimbledon for the second time in four lifetime appearances.

38-year-old Isner, who first appeared at Wimbledon in 2008, droped to 4-9 in 2023.

Munar, ranked No 109, will face Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 14 seed, next.
