Wimbledon: Medvedev through to last 16, Dimitrov next

Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 5 seed, edged out German Jan-Lennard Struff 6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (3) to reach the last 16 of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Saturday evening.

Medvedev, ranked No 5, will play Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 10 seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the Russian won against American Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-3, 6-4, 6-2) and edged out Frenchman Alexandre Muller (6-7 (3), 7-6 (4), 6-4, 7-5).

Struff, ranked No 41, beat Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-3) and edged out Chinese Zhizhen Zhang, the No 32 seed (5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (1), 7-6 (8)) earlier in the tournament.
