Wimbledon: Jarry edges past Kubler to make third round, faces Alcaraz next

Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 25 seed, moved into the third round of Wimbledon by edging out Australian Jason Kubler 7-5, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Friday afternoon.

Jarry, ranked No 28, will face Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, next. The Chilean, who won the Geneva title in May and reached the fourth round of the French Open, has won 11 of his last 14 matches.

In the previous round of The Championships, the Chilean beat Italian Marco Cecchinato (4-6, 6-2, 6-4, 6-1).

Kubler, ranked No 77, won against Frenchman Ugo Humbert (6-4, 4-6, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3) during the first round of The Championships.
