Qualifier Lloyd Harris clinches second-round berth with remarkable match point

South African qualifier Lloyd Harris came back against American Alex Michelsen 3-6, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2, 7-6 (9) to move into the second round of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Monday afternoon.

Harris rallied from two sets to love down, and he saved his best point for last against the 19-year-old American. After slipping twice in the back court, he finally finished off a rollicking point with a forehand volley winner before dropping to the grass in exultation.

The reaction on social media was nearly as impressive as the point!

Harris, ranked No 118, will face the winner of the match between Italian qualifier Mattia Bellucci and American Ben Shelton, the No 14 seed, next.
