Beatriz Haddad Maia edged out Yulia Putintseva 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 on Wednesday afternoon. She’ll face Romanian Jaqueline Cristian in the next round

Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 13 seed, moved into the second round of Wimbledon by edging out Kazakh Yulia Putintseva 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Wednesday afternoon.
Haddad Maia, ranked No 13, will play Romanian Jaqueline Cristian next.
