Wimbledon: Fognini moves into second round, defeating lucky loser Van Assche
Fabio Fognini won against Luca Van Assche 6-1, 6-3, 7-5 on Monday and will face the winner of the match between Australian qualifier Alex Bolt and Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 8 seed, in the next round

Italian Fabio Fognini reached the second round of Wimbledon by winning against French lucky loser Luca Van Assche 6-1, 6-3, 7-5 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Monday.
Fognini, ranked No 94, will play the winner of the match between Australian qualifier Alex Bolt and Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 8 seed, next.
