Wimbledon: Djokovic moves into third round

Serb Novak Djokovic, the second seed, reached the third round of Wimbledon by winning against Australian Jordan Thompson 6-3, 7-6 (4), 7-5 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Wednesday evening.

Djokovic, ranked No 2, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 29 seed, and Swiss Stan Wawrinka next.

The 36-year-old Serb defeated Argentinian Pedro Cachin (6-3, 6-3, 7-6 (4)) ahead of his victory.

In the previous round of The Championships, Thompson, ranked No 70, overturned the situation against American Brandon Nakashima (2-6, 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-3).
