Wimbledon: Bublik books spot in third round, meets Marterer next
Alexander Bublik beat J.J. Wolf 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-0 on Thursday. He’ll face German Maximilian Marterer in the next round
Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 23 seed, moved into the third round of Wimbledon by winning against American J.J. Wolf 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-0 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Thursday.
Bublik, ranked No 26, will play German Maximilian Marterer next.
The Kazakh edged out American Mackenzie McDonald (6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of The Championships.
In the first round of The Championships, Wolf, ranked No 48, defeated French qualifier Enzo Couacaud (7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (4)).
