Wimbledon: 2021 runner-up Berrettini comfortably beats De Minaur to reach third round, Zverev next

Italian Matteo Berrettini moved into the third round of Wimbledon by defeating Australian Alex De Minaur, the No. 15 seed, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.

Berrettini, ranked No. 38, will face a very difficult challenge in the form of Alexander Zverev in the next round, after the German overcame Japanese lucky loser Yosuke Watanuki in their second round encounter.

Berrettini won against fellow Italian Lorenzo Sonego (6-7 (5), 6-3, 7-6 (7), 6-3) ahead of his victory.

In the previous round of The Championships, De Minaur, ranked No 17, edged out Belgian qualifier Kimmer Coppejans (6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 (2)).
