Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 29 seed, reached the second round of Wimbledon by beating Canadian Rebecca Marino 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Thursday afternoon.
Begu, ranked No 30, will play Russian Anna Blinkova next.
