Anisimova reaches third round of Wimbledon for the first time

American Amanda Anisimova edged out countrywoman Lauren Davis 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the third round of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Thursday.
Anisimova, seeded No 20 and ranked No 25, will face the winner of the match between American Coco Gauff, the No 11 seed, and Romanian Mihaela Buzarnescu in the third round.
A former French Open semi-finalist, Anisimova is through to the third round at SW19 for the first time in three main draw appearances.
