Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, the two men who have dominated tennis in the first half of 2024, are on course for a semi-final clash at Wimbledon after they were put in the same half of the draw on Friday.

Australian Open champion and world No 1 Sinner will begin against Jannick Hanfmann and could face former runner-up Matteo Berrettini in round two. Alcaraz, the defending champion and recently-crowned winner at Roland-Garros, plays Mark Lajal of Estonia.

Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray are both in the draw, despite injury concerns. Second seed Djokovic is back, less than three weeks after having knee surgery following an injury at the French Open, while Murray is included despite serious concerns following back surgery last week.

Djokovic is in the same half as French Open runner-up Alexander Zverev, while Hubert Hurkacz and Alex de Minaur are also in the bottom half. Daniil Medvedev and Casper Ruud join Sinner and Alcaraz in the top half.
