Estonian Anett Kontaveit, the second seed, beat American Bernarda Pera 7-5, 6-1 to reach the second round of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Monday evening.
Kontaveit, ranked No 3, will play German Jule Niemeier next.
