Rybakina brushes aside Svitolina, into Wimbledon semi-final
Elena Rybakina underlined her credentials as title favourite with this dominant win
Former champion Elena Rybakina maintained her incredible record at Wimbledon, dismissing Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-2 to reach the semi-finals.
Only Ann Jones (12 wins, one loss) and Steffi Graf (74 wins and seven losses) have better winning statistics at SW19 in the Open Era; Rybakina has won 19 matches and lost just two, a percentage of 90.4.
And her dismissal of Svitolina was her 40th match win thus far this year.
The Kazakh had won the pair’s only previous meeting on grass, in Eastbourne three years ago, and her dominance on the surface continued on Centre Court.
