Watson to meet Wang in Wimbledon second round
Heather Watson won against Tamara Korpatsch 6-7 (7), 7-5, 6-2 on Tuesday to reach the Wimbledon second round for the sixth time in her career
Britain’s Heather Watson defeated German Tamara Korpatsch 6-7 (7), 7-5, 6-2 to advance to the second round of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Tuesday.
The match was held over from Monday when the players had split the first two sets.
Heather Watson, ranked No 121, will face Chinese Qiang Wang next. Wang upset 14th seeded Belidna Bencic 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 in another first round encounter held over from Day 1 of The Championships.
